Kidnap of Persephone

60x80 cm, this is a print made using a hand carved piece of wood and oil based ink. It was also and press using a wooden spoon :)

The paper is Japanese rice paper, very very thin, and can be mounted on thicker paper if preferred

The piece is based on a Greek myth, where the daughter of Demeter is kidnapped by her uncle and taken to the underworld. If Persephone ate or drank anything while in the underworld she would be bound to stay there forever, and she was offered a pomegranate...

The print will be shipped rolled up in a cardboard tube and each copy is signed and numbered. Prints going outside the uk will be sent tracked and you will receive your tracking information when shipped.
