Mary I, II and III - 50x70cm monocopies

These three pieces were created as a way of experimenting with texture. visual texture. they are different pieces made printing several layers of the same design to achieve an illusion of depth in the image. The black and the lilac inks mixing and juxtaposing each other. I wanted to convey some of that spontaneity that the original sketch had, the distress, the brushstrokes and the lack of control.

the first piece pictured was printed on a grayish-ivory paper and the other two on the usual ivory fabriano rosapina from all my prints. I think the grayish one is particularly special.

Texture in these prints vary from one to the other, but that’s part of the charm.

This is a rather big print, with the whole paper being 50x70Cm (or approximately
19.69" x 27.56")

All the prints will be shipped rolled up in a cardboard tube and each copy is signed and numbered. This means you’ll probably have to let it flat out again and rolling it up in the opposite direction often helps :)
